Barbados is GREEN for GO!
“Boutique Caribbean Holidays, Luxury Hideaways, Secluded Retreats.
ATOL and Travel Trust Protected since 2008”
What is the Green List?
The UK government has reopened travel to destinations based on a traffic light system.
Countries and islands have been assigned traffic light colours based on a range of Covid-19 health metrics, including vaccination progress and infection rates.
Barbados is on the GREEN list.
Bear in mind that destinations can change colours if the situation in a destination changes.
The government has indicated that there should be no sudden changes and given that green listed countries are based on vaccination progress, it isn't expected that destinations will drop down to amber or red.
You will be required to take a pre-departure Covid test (on your way home) and a PCR test on or before day two of your return.
We are able to offer a UK PCR test at a special rate of £50 for all of our customers.
There is no requirement to quarantine on your return.
What do you need to do?
Travelling to Barbados During Covid
Barbados is open for travellers from the UK and the restrictions are fairly minimal.
To ensure you have the most up to date information please follow the links to the FCO advice and Visit Barbados Tourism Board's updates below.
Barbados is currently exempt from the UK FCO advice against all foreign travel. This means there is no advice against travelling to Barbados and no requirement to self-isolate on return.
You will be required to produce a COVID-19 RT-PCR Negative Test to enter Antigua. This needs to be taken within 7 days of your flight from the UK.
What do I need to have before travelling to Barbados?
You'll need to have the PCR test within 72 hours of departure.
You'll need to have health insurance, as always.
You will need to complete an online form before departure.
Do I need to quarantine on arrival?
You are required to 'quarantine' in a pre-approved hotel (ask us for an updated list - many resorts we sell are already approved) until you have taken a Covid test in Barbados (4-5 days after your first negative test in the UK). Each resort will have different rules regarding movement during the time before your second test.
Do I need to wear a mask in resort?
Each resort in Barbados will have different protocols, so please check with us regarding each resort.
For beach activities where physical distancing requirements are met, the wearing of a face covering isn't necessary.
What can I expect in Barbados?
You'll need a Covid test in Barbados 4-5 days after you had your first one in the UK. This can be done at a government facility or at the resort if you prefer (for a fee).
Once you have had a negative Covid test in Barbados then you're free to travel without restriction in the island.
You'll be expected to self-monitor your health during your stay in Barbados.
If you happen to test positive for COVID-19 at any point during your stay in Barbados you will be required to self-isolate until the Barbadian authorities are satisfied you have recovered.
This may be undertaken at an approved hotel or villa, at your own expense.
What can I expect at the resort?
Only certified resorts are open for visitors. They will be adhering to standards required by the government of Barbados.
There will be additional focus on sanitization, and the utilization of contactless technology.
Temperature checks will be given upon arrival.
Whatever your Caribbean, we've got you covered.
