Travelling to Jamaica During Covid

Jamaica is open for travellers from the UK but at this stage there is a FCO advisory against travel to Jamaica. To ensure you have the most up to date information please follow the links to the FCO advice and the Visit Jamaica Tourism Board's updates below.

You will be required to produce a COVID-19 RT-PCR Negative Test to enter Jamaica. This needs to be taken within 10 days of your flight from the UK.

Travel Advisory
FCO Advice

Jamaica is not currently exempt from the UK FCO advice against all foreign travel. This means there is an advice against all non-essential travel to Jamaica and a requirement to self-isolate on return.

This does not mean there is a ban on travel to Jamaica. If you still wish to travel, you can, but it's more important than ever to have appropriate insurance.

What do I need to have before travelling to Jamaica?

You'll need to have the PCR test within 10 days of departure.

You'll need to have health insurance, as always.

You will need to complete an accommodation form before departure.

Can I leave the resort?

Yes you can, if you're staying in a 'resilient corridor' area and are on a designated excursion.

In and out of the resort you will need to follow the local protocols - social distancing, wearing a mask if applicable , hand washing etc.

Do I need to wear a mask in resort?

You will be required to wear a face covering when traversing the property where they are likely to be in close proximity to staff and other guests.

For beach activities where physical distancing requirements are met, the wearing of a face covering isn't necessary.

What can I expect in Jamaica?

All travellers are also subject to assessment  by Port Health Authorities for signs and symptoms through a series of checks and the completion of a health declaration form on arrival.

You may be tested during your stay.

Two designated 'Resilient Corridors' have been set up in Jamaica, one along the north coast and one along part of the South West Coast, to encourage safe tourism practices in these areas.

You will be expected to remain in your resort unless you are staying in one of the 'resilient corridors' where many tourism attractions remain open.

What can I expect at the resort?

Only certified resorts are open for visitors. They will be adhering to standards required by the Central Board of Health and the Ministry of Tourism.

No activities deemed high-risk will be permitted, and there will be additional focus on sanitization, and the utilization of contactless technology.

Temperature checks may be given upon arrival.
